Teaching Thoughts

I would like to be a teacher because I want to influence young children's lives the same way that previous teacher's influenced mine. I want to excite children about learning, so that in the future learning will not be a chore but an adventure. I want to give young people the opportunity to better their lives through education. In such an unpredictable world I want to empower young people with the ability to take control over at least one area of their lives, their education. Technology plays a great role in education now a day, you can't walk down the street without running into it. It has become a part of the way that students learn. They see it on the smart board, in computer labs, and now they even have Elmo's to replace overheads. Technology can make things in the classroom go a lot more quickly and smoothly (when it works). It would be arrogant of us to think that technology is not going to be a great part of what we will be doing in our classrooms.

I love your thought about learning not being a chore but an adventure. It is far easier to learn something when we are having fun and that is one of the great challenges for teachers and education today.
